Elevate 2050 (Current MTP Planning Effort)

Current Public Input Opportunity, Take the Elevate 2050 Vision/Goals Survey

What’s the MTP?

The MTP is a long-term transportation plan required for urban areas with populations over 50,000. It helps guide decisions on transportation projects and priorities, affecting everything from road construction to public transit improvements and bike paths.

The French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is kicking off the public input phase for their Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Elevate 2050, and they need your voice! Here’s why your participation is crucial:

Why Should You Care?

1.   Shape the Future: Your input helps develop the Vision & Goals for the region, which will influence which projects get prioritized and funded.

2.   Community Impact: Transportation affects us all—whether you drive, bike, walk, or use public transit. Better planning can lead to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable transportation options.

3.   Voice Your Needs: This is your chance to tell planners what you need. Want more bike lanes? Better bus routes? Safer pedestrian crossings? They need to hear it from you!

How to Get Involved:

There are several public meetings scheduled where you can share your thoughts:

•  Friday, August 2nd, 9:00-11:00 AM at Henderson County Public Library

•  Friday, August 2nd, 3:00-5:00 PM at Mars Hill Town Hall

•  Tuesday, August 6th, 4:00-7:00 PM at North Asheville Public Library (https://www.facebook.com/events/490231140191819)

If you can’t make it to a meeting, you can still provide feedback through online surveys available in both English and Spanish:

•  English Survey

•  Spanish Survey

Let’s make sure our voices are heard and help shape a better future for our region’s transportation!
